US President Donald Trump is ready for a new meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on nuclear disarmament. He did not rule out that talks could take place this year.

At the beginning of the week Pyongyang announced its readiness to resume talks with the US until the end of September. However, North Korea conducted another missile test few hours after the statement.

The last summit of the leaders, which was held in February this year in Hanoi failed. Pyongyang demanded a partial relaxation of sanctions, while Washington insisted that the sanctions would not be lifted before the denuclearization process began. Trump left the talks earlier than planned. The leaders of the two countries held an impromptu meeting on the border of the two Koreas and agreed to initiate talks at the working level.
