I believe that meeting was covered in a big political context. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan declared during a press conference in Vanadzor today, touching upon his meeting with members of the Sasna Tsrer Pan-Armenian Party Zhirayr Sefilyan and Gategin Chugaszyan.

“I believe the meeting was covered in a big political context. After all, let’s not forget that we have been members of the political opposition for a long time and have had a certain kind of relationship in that period. True, we have become detached in the political sense, but you know, I have merely had human contacts with both Garegin Chugaszyan and Zhirayr Sefilyan. A revolution took place and I became Prime Minister. Perhaps it’s right for me to not meet with them in terms of politics, but in terms of human contacts, it’s not the right approach. This meeting turned into a big topic for political analyses,” he said.

Pashinyan noted that many people don’t like the fact that he met with them and condemn the meeting, but he tries to be as simple and minimally intriguing when performing actions. “It’s not like I meet with them every other day. Perhaps the former government worked under another principle, but I don’t work under that principle. Any meeting should be neither overestimated nor underestimated.”
