YEREVAN. – The Armenian parliament attaches great importance to clarifying the parameters for accepting or not accepting the Madrid Principles as the basis for the negotiation process on the Karabakh settlement, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in the parliament.
As long as all parameters of the Madrid Principles remain not that transparent for the Armenian side, as we would like it to be, it is difficult to say whether Armenia will accept them as a basis for talks.
“The Madrid principles are essentially a tool to solve the problem. We want to understand where this path can lead us, in order to understand whether we are going along this path or not,” Pashinyan explained.
The Prime Minister emphasized that when it comes to finding out that different parties plan to go their separate ways, this essentially means that there is a problem with the Madrid Principles.
“And we do not want to deceive anyone in the negotiation process,” Pashinyan resumed.
