YEREVAN. – In the past nine months, the flow of tourists to Armenia has increased by 14.4%. This was stated by the Minister of Economy, Tigran Khachatryan, at the November 14 National Assembly sitting discussing the draft state budget for 2020.

According to the minister, the main flow of these tourists is from Russia - 646 thousand people. Compared to the same period in 2018, the growth was 23.1%. "As compared to last year, 18.5% more tourists visited Armenia from the United States, 45% from Germany, 21% from France, 29% from Lebanon, 23% from the Netherlands, 30-40% from Greece, Switzerland and Australia." Khachatryan said. "Another significant fact is that this increase from South Korea was 37.6%, from China - 42.1%, from Japan - 18.5%."

He added, all this is evidence of positive changes in Armenia's tourism appeal.
