YEREVAN. – We need to provide a high threshold for engaging and developing innovative technologies. For example, they make money from a fairy tale in the United Arab Emirates; they are building a city of Aladdin right on the sea. Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, MP of majority My Step faction, stated this at the November 14 National Assembly of Armenia sitting discussing the draft state budget of 2020, addressing Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan.

According to the MP, there are world-famous traditions in Armenia, but the latter is unable to make money from them. "Thanks to partnership between the business and the state, it will be possible to solve many issues," Hovhannisyan explained.

The minister, for his part, said the private sector had presented a number of initiatives to the government. "We are considering them, and we will see what can be expected from this or that initiative, and what we can do on a competitive basis to make them happen," he assured.
