YEREVAN. – Today in our reality phenomena are taking place in Armenia which I shall conditionally call "futuristic law." Artsakh former Ombudsman, lawyer Ruben Melikyan stated this in his speech at Vernatun Club today.

"It [i.e. futuristic law] works by several principles," Melikyan said. “The first is non-principle instead of principle, routine instead of systematic, eclecticism instead of logic, effect instead of effectiveness. In the light of these principles, we can assess many events.”

Subsequently, Melikyan presented several examples.

"After calling it like it is, there is a need to develop some things that will be an antidote to all this," he concluded. "Our jurisprudence is showing a very serious resistance to this ‘futuristic law.’"
