Nikol Pashinyan has made so many contradicting statements that it is hard to find any logic. This is what head of “Akunq” Political-Analytical Center, former MP Ruben Hakobyan told journalists during the conference held by “Vernatun” public-political club.

“The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has truly entered into a deadlock because Nikol Pashinyan expressed a position that was contradicting and non-strategic. On the one hand, Pashinyan tells Europe that there has to be a solution that is acceptable for all three parties (I don’t think there’s anyone who can say what kind of a solution that will be), and on the other hand, he declares that “Artsakh is Armenia, period”, after which Aliyev declares that “not only Artsakh, but also Yerevan and Zangezur are Azerbaijan, period”. This has seriously led the settlement of the conflict to a deadlock.”

Touching upon the visit that Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov paid to Armenia, Hakobyan said Lavrov had come with a rather serious agenda, and it’s not by chance that he cited Pashinyan’s statement twice during the short briefing in order to satisfy the three parties. Hakobyan added that Pashinyan isn’t doing this intentionally and simply doesn’t have a plan for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
