The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely President of the Senate of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva, was hosted at the Center for Kazakh Culture, History and Language of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University today.

During the visit, Head of the Chair of Turkish Studies, Professor Alexander Safaryan greeted the guests, presented the history of the cultural ties and the language and culture of the Kazakhs and Armenians and stressed the importance of studies on the Ghpchagh manuscripts in Armenian letters from the perspective of research on the history of Turkic languages, particularly the Kazakh language.

“The fundamental anthology of Kazakh literature will be released at the end of this month, and it serves as brilliant evidence of the fruitful work done by Yerevan State University, the Literature Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Armenia,” he said and thanked the Embassy of Kazakhstan for the support.

In her welcoming speech, Dariga Nazarbayeva wished the students success and called on them to be active in the field of science. She also recommended that they learn Kazakh and visit Kazakhstan as frequently as possible.

Dariga Nazarbayeva also told the students about the Armenians of Kazakhstan, saying that they have always lived well and have established their community, which also serves as a reason for Armenian students to visit Kazakhstan and study at the universities of the country.
