Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Chairwoman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva, as reported the news service of the Government of Armenia.

Welcoming Nazarbayeva’s visit to Armenia, the Prime Minister stated that the intensification of contacts of high-ranking officials attests to the high level of relations. Nikol Pashinyan attached importance to the partnership within the framework of international organizations such as the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, highly appreciated the political dialogue between Armenia and Kazakhstan and expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for its balanced position on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Talking about trade and economic relations, Prime Minister Pashinyan mentioned that there is great potential to deepen the relations through bilateral programs and within the scope of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Nazarbayeva stated that she was impressed with her first visit to Armenia and that Kazakhstan attaches importance to the strengthening of relations with Armenia. Nazarbayeva congratulated Pashinyan on the successful chairmanship of Armenia in the Eurasian Economic Union during which Singapore and the Eurasian Economic Union signed agreements on trade and economic cooperation.

Pashinyan and Nazarbayeva exchanged views on the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held in Yerevan in October and the enhancement of cooperation within the scope of the Eurasian Economic Union. Pashinyan recorded the high level of dialogue between Armenia and Kazakhstan and mentioned that Armenia would be glad to host President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on an official visit to Armenia next year.
