It is regrettable that the illegitimacy of the Constitutional Court is indicated by those who constantly appealed to the Constitutional Court, said member of Constitutional Court Alvina Gyulumyan at public discussions on the situation around the Constitutional Court.

According to her, the appeals were satisfied.

Speaking about the decisions of the Constitutional Court regarding the election results, Alvina Gyulumyan noted that the Constitutional Court considers disputes when it acts as an actual court.

“This was in 1996, when the Constitutional Court was just created, and by the inertia of the courts of first instance, the Constitutional Court went by comparing ballots. After that, the legislation was amended, and the Constitutional Court does not consider the election results, but their legality. And this can be called into question if the court of general jurisdiction found a violation. They tell us - we do not trust the courts, therefore we do not apply, we go straight to the Constitutional Court. I say this so that the society is informed that the Constitutional Court does not always have the opportunity to give an assessment, which is required by the public on the streets,” she said.
