YEREVAN. – The trial of Armenia’s ex-MP, General Manvel Grigoryan, which is still ongoing at a Yerevan court of first instance today, was postponed for several minutes as Grigoryan's health deteriorated again. Medical personnel took the defendant out of the courtroom.

Manvel Grigoryan was brought to the court in a wheelchair, accompanied by medical personnel. At the courtroom, Grigoryan was greeted with applause and calls, "Health to the commander."

At a previous court hearing, the defendant’s attorneys filed a motion for the presiding judge to recuse himself, but the court denied this motion.

Manvel Grigoryan is charged with illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, embezzlement of property, tax evasion, misuse of state funds, and setting up theft of property.

His wife Nazik Amiryan is accused of illegally keeping ammunition and explosives in the three houses they own, as well as committing thefts.
