YEREVAN. – Negotiations with the Chinese company on the Alaverdi copper smelter are continuing. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this in a conversation with journalists today.

"According to a preliminary agreement, the Chinese company is planning a visit to Armenia, and I think I will also receive the delegation during that visit," Avinyan said. "In general, the construction of a new copper smelting complex is on our agenda because what is present in Alaverdi is not effective, it is very problematic from an environmental point of view."
