YEREVAN. – Armenia cannot be advantageous for airlines that do not want to be guided by certain international standards and rules. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this in a conversation with reporters today, referring to the fact that Taron-Avia airline has left the Armenian aviation market and is now operating in Africa.

"Taron-Avia had a problem with one of the European aviation organizations and did not meet certain standards," the Deputy Prime Minister stated. “We are tightening our demands in all directions. Of course, it is unfortunate that the Armenian airline has to leave the market. But if we talk about flight safety, that should be our priority."

According to him, this will be the general policy in all spheres. "Of course, we try to assist the Armenian airlines by various means," the deputy prime minister said. "But we must also realize that we cannot be guided by old methods, old logic, old quality."

He also informed that Taron-Avia was given time, but the airline decided that it did not consider it appropriate to solve these problems and considered it appropriate to operate in Africa.
