YEREVAN. - Past newspaper writes that from January 1, 2020, the EEU customs rates will start to apply to 699 products being imported to Armenia from third countries, which implies inflation of these products.

It is worrisome that the expected inflation from January will also refer to the bare necessities.

A good mechanism to curb this inflation may be to increase local production. However, the problem here is that the products whose raw materials will be imported from third countries will also go up in price to ensure their existence on the market.
