YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia made a decision today to increase the revenues and expenditures of the 2019 budget by 9.95 million drams.

The money from the reserve fund will be earmarked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pay to the state budget instead of those who are exempt from paying state duty to issue, or exchange, Armenia passports in foreign countries.

In the third quarter of 2019, a total of 173 Armenia passports were issued in foreign countries, but no respective state tax was levied. At the same time, these passports were issued by the Embassy of Armenia in Damascus, Syria, and the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo, Syria, to Armenian citizens and Armenian foreign citizens in the given cities, who have obtained Armenian citizenship and applied for the first time to obtain an Armenian passport.

The Government of the Republic of Armenia is doing its best to assist Armenian foreign citizens and Armenian citizens in whose permanent places of residence there is an emergency situation that threatens their lives or health.
