The Democratic Party of Artsakh (DPA) has consistently expressed its position on the country's main foreign policy priorities, stressing the importance of ensuring the international recognition and security guarantee of Artsakh's independence.

DPA leader - and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) National Assembly speaker - Ashot Ghoulyan said this at the party's congress today, Artsakhpress reports.

"We have insisted and will continue to insist that the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict can be resolved only with the full participation of the Artsakh Republic in the negotiations," the DPA leader noted. “And the proposed solution options and proposals must first of all be acceptable to the people of Artsakh, the immediate side of the conflict. The independent status of Artsakh and the recognition and respect of the natural rights of the people of Artsakh cannot be a subject of bargaining in the negotiations."

Ghoulyan is convinced that in order to make the fair claim accessible and to make serious progress in this respect, it is necessary to use all opportunities to engage to the maximum the potential of the Armenian Diaspora and foreign partners.

At the same time, he expressed his readiness to continue the policy of comprehensive cooperation with international partners, being ready to join political unions where the protection and respect of human rights, the principle of self-determination of nations and sovereign equality of states are the highest values of cooperation.
