US President Donald Trump said he still believes in North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, but noted that Kim loves to launch rockets, Reuters reported. 

“That’s why I call him Rocket Man,” Trump told reporters during a meeting with the head of NATO in London He said he hoped Kim would denuclearize, but added: “we’ll find out.”

North Korea launched two near-range shells at sea off the east coast last week during the last test of its large multi-jet launcher. Earlier Tuesday, North Korea accused the US of trying to drag out denuclearization talks over next year’s US presidential election.

Trump noted that he also insists on talks with the allies of South Korea and Japan to cover most of the costs of deploying US troops in these countries.

According to him, South Korea agreed to pay almost $ 500 million a year for the US protection, and added that the US now want additional obligations. Asked whether it was in the interests of US national security to deploy US troops on the Korean Peninsula, Trump said: “It can be debated. I can go either way. I can make arguments both ways. But I do think this, I think if we’re going to do it, they should burden-share more fairly.”
