YEREVAN. – Twenty-four people were apprehended from Vazgen Sargsyan Street in downtown Yerevan after representatives of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun youth union tried to block the street. 

As reported earlier, the protesters invited Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Education, to a meeting and tried to break into the building of the department after his refusal. The young people sat down at the entrance to the ministry. Law enforcement officers demanded that the protesters release the entrance to the building. The police forced the young people back. Protesters blocked Vazgen Sargsyan Street in response, but were apprehended by police. 

Young people are demanding Harutyunyan’s resignation.
