Kurdish Peace and Democracy party submitted a list of candidates for deputies in the Turkish parliament.

The list of candidates was prepared by party leaders Selahatin Demirtas and Gyultan Kisanak. The Kurdish Party will support 61 independent candidates in 39 provinces of Turkey. There are no Armenians among 61 candidates, Posta newspaper reports.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the Peace and Democracy party decided to nominate famous Armenian writer, journalist Hayko Baghdad in the parliamentary elections. Later a decision was made to nominate Ismet Shahin and Ishkhan Zakaryan. However, it is yet unclear why the party failed to nominate an Armenian.

Parliamentary elections in Turkey are scheduled for June 12, 2011.
