The two fingers on the hand of a 10-year-old boy in Yerevan were amputated after he injured them while using an explosive device. This is what Spokesperson of the Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center Gevorg Derdzyan wrote on his Facebook page.

“The days before the New Year bring not only happiness, but also misery to some families when children use explosive devices.

Recently, a 10-year-old child purchased an explosive device and injured himself. When he was transferred to Surp Astvatsamayr Medical Center, the first and second fingers of the child’s right hand were amputated, and doctors managed to maintain the other fingers.

The boy’s life isn’t at risk, and doctors say his condition is of medium gravity. He continues to receive necessary medical aid,” Derdzyan wrote.
