Updating NATO’s security strategy is inevitable amid threats against Turkey, said Turkish vice president Fuat Oktay on Thursday, commenting on the outcome of the NATO summit in London, 

According to him, the NATO Leaders Summit in London once again demonstrated the alliance’s mission, Anatolian News Agency reported.

The President of Turkey called on the Allies to take a sincere position on cooperation in the fight against terrorism, he said speaking in Ankara.

One should not forget that the borders of Turkey are the borders of NATO, he said adding that Turkey’s vice president called on Ankara’s allies for solidarity in the fight against common challenges.

Earlier in Ankara, NATO allies, particularly US and France, were repeatedly criticized for supporting the Syrian Kurdish Self-Defense Forces, which are considered a terrorist organization in Turkey  related to the Kurdistan Workers Party banned in the country.
