The National Statistics Committee reported that total foreign investment in Armenia amounted to AMD 128 billion in 2019, Mikayel Melkumyan, Prosperous Armenia party MP, said at the Armenian parliament on Thursday.

The data includes not only direct investments, but raw materials imported into the country and payments made for this raw material, or loans, he added.

According to him, it’s not about investors, since payment for raw materials cannot be considered an investment.

Melkumyan also noted that the approaches of their political power are different from the policies of the ruling authorities.
