During his visit to Brussels, Minister of Justice of Armenia Rustam Badasyan on Thursday and Friday met with Director-General of the Directorate for Justice and Consumers of the European Commission Tina Astola, reports the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.

The justice minister expressed satisfaction with the meeting, attached importance to the opportunity to discuss the vision for reforms in the justice sector once again and reaffirmed the commitment to deepen cooperation with the European Union and implement reforms as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Rustam Badasyan provided details about the four sector-specific strategies that were recently developed and discussed the directions for measures that are being implemented within the scope of the EU-Armenia Strategic Policy and concern independence of the judiciary, strengthening of accountability, the creation of an Anti-Corruption Court and more.

During the visit, the minister also met with Deputy Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Katarina Maternova; Head of Unit of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Eastern Partnership of the Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Vassilis Maragos and Director for Neighborhood East of the Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Lawrence Meredith.
