US President Donald Trump’s administration is considering including some of Amazon’s overseas websites in ‘notorious markets’ list, Wall Street Journal reported.

These actions will be undertaken by the office of the US Trade Representative, the report said. No decisions were made and that similar proposals proposed last year were ultimately rejected.

Amazon, in turn, said that the company strictly prohibits counterfeit products on its platforms and invests large amounts in order to protect consumers from such products. Fighting counterfeit products requires collaboration across the industry, including retailers, brands, law enforcement, and government, the company said in a statement.

According to them, they continue to actively interact with these stakeholders, as they hold the bad actors accountable and bring counterfeit products to zero in Amazon store.

The office of the US trade representative has not yet commented in this regard.
