It is obvious that there have been political speculations, and there will be in the future, too. Independent MP Arman Babajanyan said this while discussing a draft decision to prolong the term of the parliamentary committee investigating the April 2016 military action, addressing Andranik Kocharyan, chairman of this committee and MP from the majority My Step faction.

"I would like for you to present if there was any resistance?" Babajanyan asked and continued: “When should we waiting for the questioning of [former CSTO Secretary General Yuri] Khachaturov, Baghramyan, and [third President] Serzh Sargsyan at your committee? You have stated about that."

Kocharyan said they had not met resistance. "There may have been unintelligible moments, but the committee has been able to overcome them," he said. “And the invitees are confirmed, we are obliged to listen to the persons you have mentioned, up to Serzh Sargsyan who held the office of President, who has been the Commander-in-Chief before. Questions have been collected, the final answers to which we must get from Serzh Sargsyan; but before that, from all those officials who had governance ties. Political speculation has been ruled out until now."
