The initiative of the Greater Eurasian Partnership is open to the EU, Ambassador-at-Large Kirill Barsky said on Tuesday. 

His remarks came at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs on the implementation of decisions and agreements on linking the construction of the Eurasian Economic Union with the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative in the context of efforts to form a Greater Eurasian Partnership between the Eurasian Union, SCO and ASEAN,

According to him, their initiative is as flexible as possible, it is open, including for the EU and its member states.

A certain interest is shown in the EU, he said noting that French President Emmanuel Macron recalled the idea of de Gaulle of Greater Eurasia from Lisbon to Vladivostok and they will welcome it.
