YEREVAN. – On December 10, the Chairman of the Committee on Captives, Hostages and Missing Persons, and Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, received a delegation led by Claire Meytraud, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation to Armenia, the Ministry of Defense informed.

During the meeting they discussed the fates of Arayik Ghazaryan and Karen Ghazaryan, the Armenian citizens imprisoned on the Azerbaijani side, and highlighted the coordinated activities of the Red Cross offices in Yerevan and Baku to provide them with regular visits and correspondence with their families.

Tonoyan emphasized the importance of cooperation and joint efforts with the ICRC for the final solution of the problem of the imprisonment of the Armenian citizens and their immediate repatriation.

The interlocutors also discussed issues related to finding out the fate of missing persons as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, other issues related to the coordination of work between Armenia’s Committee on Captives, Hostages and Missing Persons, and the ICRC.
