YEREVAN. – The appeal of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan's preventive measure has been assigned to Judge Lusine Abgaryan of the Criminal Court of Appeal, the DataLex judicial information system informs.

The assigning took place yesterday, but there is still no decision on whether or not this judge will hear this appeal

Kocharyan's defendants appealed the November 7 ruling of Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Court of First Instance, who denied the motion to release Robert Kocharyan on bail.

The appeal was assigned to Judge Mkhitar Papoyan. But at the first hearing, the prosecution filed a motion for the self-recusal of this judge, pointing out external factors that, in their view, may cast doubt on the court's impartiality, and the judge granted this motion.
