YEREVAN. – Yes, 600 million drams is not a small sum, it's a high price, but we have to pay that high price. Babken Tunyan, a member of the ruling My Step bloc, said at the traditional briefing in the National Assembly on December 11, commenting on the already passed law on the early retirement for the serving judges of the Constitutional Court of Armenia.

Tunyan said they believe that the issue should be resolved without any shocks, and that 600 million drams "is not a big sum" to accomplish that goal and secure Armenia's future.

On December 11, the National Assembly approved the law on early retirement of serving judges of the Constitutional Court. But the bill has generated a public and political reaction, and has become the subject of widespread criticism.
