Athens will ask its EU counterparts to exert pressure on Turkey to receive diplomatic protection from Ankara’s growing aggression in the region during the December 12-13 meetings of the European Council, reports EURACTIV.

It is expected that the EU leaders will condemn the MoU between Turkey and Libya on the delimitation of maritime zones in the Mediterranean Sea that has had a strictly negative impact on Athens, Nicosia and Cairo.

The European Council’s document states that the Council unambiguously affirms its solidarity with Greece and Cyprus against Turkey’s actions.
