During a discussion on the draft decision on giving consent to the package of bills on making a supplement to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and on making a supplement to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia held as part of the government session today, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan asked whether there would be a problem with applying the regulation of the draft decision in case of calls for violence against a group.

“For instance, there are people who say they have to massacre a certain group. Is this a call for violence? Won’t we have problems with application?” the Prime Minister asked.

Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the European Court of Human Rights Yeghishe Kirakosyan noted the following: “Mr. Prime Minister, that is a call for genocide, and it is already criminalized.”
