Turkey’s ex-Prime Minister Ahmed Davutoglu has established a new political party that may pose a challenge to the ruling Justice and Development Party, reports Reuters.

Davutoglu has submitted an application to the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs to register the future political party, reports Cumhuriyet. He is planning to make an announcement about the establishment of the political party during the press conference to be held on Friday.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan has also announced the establishment of a new political party. Both Davutoglu and Babacan left the Justice and Development Party this year.
