The US Senate resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide is not subject to the US President's signature. Edmon Marukyan, head of the opposition Bright Armenia faction in parliament, noted this on Facebook.

"Important information: The US Senate Resolution 150 recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide is now an irrefutable historical fact," he wrote. "The resolution is final and not subject to the US President's SIGNATURE."

On December 12, the US Senate unanimously adopted Resolution 150 recognizing and condemning Armenian Genocide. Earlier, such a resolution was passed also by the US House of Representatives.
