YEREVAN. – In 2019, 11,000 people have been hired in Armenia for work; 7,794 of them are women, and 203 are people with disabilities. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan said this in a conversation with journalists today.

"The most important policy of the government in our area is the promotion of work, which should become the main principle of surmounting poverty," Batoyan noted. "The state should create conditions for people to be able to develop their profession, skills, and to engage in work."

According to her, in 2019, more than 4,000 vacancies were created in Armenia through employment plans. “This year we have organized 10 job fairs with around 367 employers representing 13,500 vacancies. In 2019, over 11,000 job seekers got a job through the Employment Agency, of whom 7,794 are women, 3,483 are youth, and 203 are people with disabilities.”
