Within the framework of his visit to Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, Armenian Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan made a speech today at the eighth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

The Minister informed that during the past two years, Armenia has made a political and institutional transition to democracy, especially in the fight against corruption and its prevention.

The Minister also presented the statistics of criminal cases initiated in Armenia on corruption offenses in 2018, according to which they have increased by 60% compared to 2017, and he also presented the respective institutional measures being taken in the country.

In the fight against corruption, the Armenian Minister of Justice also emphasized the importance of ensuring public involvement and implementation of education and raising awareness in the process of drafting legal acts.
