Armenia takes into consideration the factor of elections in Azerbaijan in the process of negotiations over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said as he responded to deputies’ questions in parliament today.

According to him, Armenia is leading negotiations with Azerbaijan, regardless of who represents Azerbaijan at the given moment.

“From this perspective, of course, the elections are a factor that we take into consideration, but at the same time, we state that the negotiations are necessary,” Mnatsakanyan highlighted.

Talking about the implementation of humanitarian programs over which the sides have agreed, Mnatsakanyan stated that they play a major role in the entire process of negotiations.

Azerbaijan will hold snap parliamentary elections on February 9.
