YEREVAN. – The COBRAIN project will enable closer collaboration with European universities and research centers and bring the best international experience to Armenia. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this on January 24, as part of the conference on the victory of the HORIZON 2020 Twinning project.

"Armenia, being limited in the possibilities of financial capital and natural resources, attaches great importance to the great potential of human capital development, including education and medicine," Avinyan noted.

He expressed hope that thanks to the implementation of the COBRAIN project, Armenian doctors working abroad will wish to return to their homeland and develop medicine in Armenia.

"Ninety percent of brain diseases are incurable today, and this has become a challenge for the whole world, including Armenia," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded. "So this project, which is aimed at the development of neurosurgery, is of strategic importance to Armenia."
