YEREVAN. – The Army Day is uniting all of us regardless of political views, as we have all made our contribution to the army, the son of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said at the Yerablur military cemetery.

“The April events showed that we have a stable army that is ready to confront any encroachment by the adversary. The biggest achievement is having an army,” he told reporters.

Speaking about the situation over the Constitutional Court, he said if we look at the chronology, we will understand how it all started, and when the authorities realized that the Constitutional Court should change.

“This is directly related to my father’s business. This process started last May when the first instance court sent my case to the Constitutional Court,” he said. “In a couple of days, after the well-known decision on September 4, the director of Armenia’s National Security Service resigned. It seems to me that all these are continuous elements of the same actions. The judges of the Constitutional Court are under tremendous pressure. Such behavior of the head of the country, irresponsible statements, I think they are first of all harmful for our country. Without malicious intent, without personalization, this is really bad for our country. It seems, and I'm embarrassed about what is happening.”
