YEREVAN. – I do not want to believe in the press releases that the Prime Minister held a consultation, visited specific bodies. But it all hangs in the air, and it is indirectly confirmed by the Prime Minister's being so informed about all the cases. Armenia’s Constitutional Court (CC) President Hrayr Tovmasyan said this in a TV program, referring to allegations that PM Nikol Pashinyan is directly leading the campaign against him.

As for Pashinyan's statement that it is necessary to conduct an investigation and find out whether Tovmasyan's foreign visits were a threat to national security, the CC President responded: "They should be careful about the article on 'collecting and disseminating information about a person for purposes not provided for by law' (...). But remember that this ‘camel’ will one day knock on your door, too, and one day you will answer where you had gone, whom you were talking to, when you met with whom, etc."

To the observation that the authorities did not demand Hrayr Tovmasyan’s resignation at first, but they later realized, he responded: "Did you have that right? We are a state of law. Are we speaking with right? Or are we speaking with the elements (…) inherent in the criminal subculture? If there is a violation, if there will be grounds, okay."
