The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency stopped air communication with China until March 29 amid the coronavirus, the statement said.

Within preventive measures for the possible spread of coronavirus in Georgia, direct flights with China are temporarily prohibited. The aviation authorities and the corresponding airlines of China have already been notified about this. The restrictions will be valid until the end of the winter navigation season (March 29), the statement said.

The agency added that the decision to temporarily stop the flight may be reviewed depending on the pace of the spread of the epidemic.

There are regular direct flights between Georgia and China three times a week along the Tbilisi-Urumqi route.
