Armenia is ranked 12th with 14.4 per cent in the list of the world’s fastest growing tourist destinations according to the latest statistics from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), The Independent reported.

As UNWTO noted, overseas trips hit 1.5 billion in 2019, up four per cent from 2018.

Myanmar tops the list with 0.2 per cent per cent increase in visitors, followed by Puerto Rico (31.2 per cent) and Iran (27.9 per cent).

Meanwhile, Armenia is ranked twelfth with 14.4 per cent along with South Korea (14.4 per cent), leaving behind Turkey (14.0 per cent) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (13.7 per cent).
