During its session today, the Armenian parliament welcomed the decision of the Syrian parliament on unanimous recognition of the Armenian Genocide, reports Armenian News-NEWS.am. On February 13, the Syrian parliament voted in favor of adoption of the resolution on recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide committed by the Ottoman government in the early 20th century.

The Syrian parliamentarians’ agenda included a discussion on the resolution on recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire and the genocides of other nations in Syria that was presented by the Syria-Armenia Friendship Group. With this decision, the Syrian parliament joined more than 30 parliaments that have adopted resolutions on recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.
