Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan noted if Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev wants to delve into history, then he reminds him that in the South Caucasus there was no country called Azerbaijan during the reign of the Armenian king Tigranes the Great.

His remarks came during the discussion on Karabakh within the framework of the Munich Security Conference after the lengthy speech of the Azerbaijani President, who noted according to historical facts Karabakh is the original Azerbaijani territory.

The PM noted that one should not go deep into history, since not only BC, but also in the later period, there were no Azerbaijani people in the Caucasus.

Historically, Armenians, Georgians, but not Azerbaijanis lived here, he added.

Pashinyan recalled that the transfer of Karabakh to Azerbaijan was a personal initiative of Joseph Stalin in the framework of the conspiracy between Ataturk and Lenin.

Karabakh has never been part of independent Azerbaijan, he recalled. The PM added that the main point of the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council was to unconditionally and immediately establish a ceasefire.
