YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan received today the Ambassador of France Jonathan Lacote.

The Minister thanked the Ambassador for the great support provided by France to Armenia within the framework of the European Union, and highlighted the success achieved in the field of legal cooperation based on the agreements reached with the French Minister of Justice Nicole Berube in Strasbourg last October.

The French ambassador expressed readiness to develop cooperation and inquired of the minister about the priorities of Armenia’s judiciary.

Badasyan touched upon the need to check the integrity of judges provided by the judicial strategy, the respective functions of the Committee on the Prevention of Corruption, the procedures for appointing new judges, and a number of other issues.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop cooperation in a number of directions.
