YEREVAN. – I suppose Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will meet with the Mothers in Black [the mothers of the soldiers who have died in times of peace in the Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) armies in different years]. Alen Simonyan, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, said this in a conversation with journalists today.

"I informed that the Mothers in Black are in front of the government [building], he [Pashinyan] said, he is aware," Simonyan said. "I suppose there will be a meeting."

Asked if the meeting will be today, he replied: "I don’t think so. I can’t say; [but] hardly today. ”

To the aforesaid mothers' remark that perhaps Pashinyan is not being reported correctly, Simonyan said: “There is no criminal case that the government, the authorities are in any way molded to settle if possible. Often, the issue is related to the timeframe, an issue arises as to the trust in the courts’ decision; every issue is subjective. ”

Asked if there is a need for public discussion today, Simonyan replied: “I cannot imagine and haven’t seen a more public and open way in Armenia; everything used to be closed, starting with the government meetings and the meeting of the [Yerevan] Council of Elders. In terms of the law, it’s possible to do everything closed now, too. We, too, spend the whole day outdoors, interacting."
