Despite Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s harsh criticism of a potential coup d’état, the ruling party and the opposition is still considering the issue, writes Hurriyet’s columnist Abdulkadir Selvi.

“The talks about a coup d’état are a new campaign. Nobody should fall for it. This is state treason,” Erdogan said.

“I was in parliament yesterday. Despite President Erdogan’s harsh stance, discussions are still going on. Politicians are trying to understand why there are such talks and what the goal of the people who have started those talks is,” Selvi said.
