YEREVAN. – It is very important that the interest of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) towards the public procurement system is growing in Armenia, as well as the appeal and accountability system is being improved. Artak Manukyan, an MP from the ruling My Step alliance of Armenia, said this today during the parliamentary hearings on "Issues of Public Procurement System and the Ways to Solve them.”

At the same time, in his words, "green" procurements in EU countries and various agreements of this kind are no less important. The deputy noted that it is necessary to create the best competitive environment and help make the system more appealing. At the same time, he stressed the importance of improving the appeal system.

Manukyan also stressed the importance of accountability and transparency, adding that a great deal of work had been done in this regard, and the temptation to automate everything had grown significantly.

At the same time, he noted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are not yet generally interested in the public procurement system, and therefore, in the parliamentarian's opinion, the steps being taken in this direction are important.
