YEREVAN. – It is ridiculous when public procurement tenders are awarded to the company that offers the lowest price for its services, or products. Opposition Prosperous Armenia Party MP Sergey Bagratyan said this today during the parliamentary hearings on "Issues of Public Procurement System and the Ways to Solve them.”

According to the MP, such an approach should be reconsidered. "The victory should be given to the company that has offered a price close to the average," he stressed, in particular.

Bagratyan also touched upon the chances of Armenia's participation in the tenders on the margins of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). According to the parliamentarian, Armenia seems to be isolated from these tenders. He attributes this to the fact that Armenia’s companies feel defenseless and do not want to take unjustified risks.
