Yervand Manaryan remained the way he was throughout his life. This is what Director of the Tumanyan State Puppet Theater of Armenian Ruben Babayan told reporters during the Requiem Service for People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia, actor Yervand Manaryan taking place at St. Hovhannes Church in Yerevan today.

“Yervand Manaryan was a person who would make us feel happy. We are all very happy that we were Yervand Manaryan’s contemporaries,” he said and stated that he would do his job without expecting any reward.

Among the attendees of the Requiem Service were Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Mrs. Anna Hakobyan, Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan, MPs and government officials, intellectuals, cultural figures and fans of the people’s artist.

Manaryan died on February 20. He was 95 years old.
