During a press conference in Brussels, European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic declared that the impact of the coronavirus on the economies of EU member states will depend on the period and amounts of outbreak of the disease, but the health of the population remains the priority for the European Commission, reports RIA Novosti.

“Of course, there are consequences for the economy, but it all depends on the continuity and amount,” he said.

Earlier, the European Commission had declared that, based on forecasts, the impact of the coronavirus on global economy will be relatively restricted. Brussels still has its forecasts for 1.2% growth in the Eurozone in 2020-21.
